im about to buy parts for my car when ever i get it back and i plan on adding Si wheels and a rear disc bracke conversion for my 93 del sol. my question is how large of rotors can i get with factory calipers? i would like to go as big as possible for front and rear. but also dont want to have problems with the Si wheel. so i need help, what would be a nice setup for daily driving but yet something that will look nice at shows. TIA-

 

Well, I beleive the largest you can go is Del Sol VTEC brake setup which is the same rotor and caliper as a GSR. I don't see any benefit of keeping your stock caliper and going with a larger rotor. You have to deal with offsetting your caliper, and you still have the same braking power, since your using the same system, same master cylinder, and same pad size.

If you want to upgrade, buy the stock del sol VTEC units. They max out the stock 14's.

And if you want to one up that you can use the setup from June 2005 Honda Tuning. It encorporates prelude rotors, 2 piston legend calipers, and NSX pads. Plus it utilizes the larger integra 1" master cylinder (over the VTEC's 15/16"). As for your rear brakes, just get the VTEC model's or GSR's, they are identical.

This setup requires minor machining but isn't that hard to accomplish. Plus, I only paid 385 bucks canadian for all these parts, and I think it was def worth it for stopping. Only hitch is you need to bump up to 15" wheels.
