Default Best repair manual for 96 civic

It looks like there are a number of brands for repair manuals on Honda Civics. What's the best? I am looking for something that details what maintenaince should be done and when(manual was stolen from car w/ cd player), as well as gives pictures explaining parts of the civic and how to replace them...any thoughts and prices?

Best book out there is the HELMS manual, aka; the bible

you can get it at http://www.helminc.com

they run about 70$ with shipping. worth every penny, even for starters

OK, I'm sold on Helm...now which one of the 3 for a '96 4 door DX ? They each have different stock #'s, but the "description" of them look the same. Is there really a difference?

1996-2000 Civic Service Manual $64, 61SO300

1996-97 Civic Shop Manual $69, 61S0307

1996 Civic 2/3/4 Door Shop Manual $64, 61S0302

I need to pick one of these up for my 97 Ex, but which one is it? Is the shop manual more indepth than the service manual? I would hate to order the wrong one. Anyone selling one?

I agree with the others on the Helm's. All the others like Chiltons and the like don't cover material as well as Helm's.

Oh yes, and the factory manual. I measured it to see how thick was for the heck of it. 2 1/2 inches of Honda goodness.
