Default Brighter Headlights

I have noticed that my headlights on my 91 crx are not that bright at all.
Also my gauge cluster is very dim. I can see the light on but it is very dim.
I have searched but didn't find anyways to increase the brightness of the low beams.
If at all possible I would like to keep my stock headlight lens'.

Voltage stabilizers are also helpful

has a write up on how to make you 9006 to 9005's and is a great trick to a brighter head light.

Curious, on that site the new bulb doesn't have the shield on the very tip like the old one does. If you notice, the low beams have this, and the high beams don't. Are the new bulbs suppossed to be for high beams?

Yes, essentially you are turning it into two high beams. Don't worry about getting flashed or anything like that...I have had them in my car for 3 years and NEVER been flashed.

100% correct. I have done this not only on my car but on DrDisco69 and my bro in law's car. I have never had anyone flash there lights at me because my lights are too bright. They help SO much! And it is so easy to do.

I have te same 9005 setup for low beams, never been flashed but its a night and day difference from the 9006's. Only thing i did in addition to the low beams, while srfing the lighting catalog at my work (Napa) i noticed a set of 9005 100 watt blue APC bulbs. I figured they were the usual real 65 watt but simulated 100 watt but they were really 100 watt and i cant remember what the sim wattage was. so i have the super white xenon 65 watt 9005's in my low beams and Blue 100 watt 9005's in my high beams, they really are 100 watt cause when u hit the high beams its like turning on the sun looks just as good as some HID's i have seen and on cars i have driven. Stock wiring and relay has held up just fine for the past year and some change. This is one of the best upgrades i have done, used to live up in the city in VA but down here almost all the roads dont have streetlights. If u have lowered the car a considerable amount u may want to aim the headlights up just a tad, use the good ol tape on the garage door or wall from a measured distance to get them right and the same height. I can get the part # for people that want the 100 wat bulbs for the high beams, the 9005's are a great upgrade for low beams but i felt that i would need to have something brighter for my high beams since i upgraded the low beams. This mod was also done on my buddies 2004 colorado that also uses the 9006/9005 setup we use on the EF's and his turned out really awesome too. sorry for the semi long post but just sharing what i have found, and i have not seen anyone upgrade the high beams to anything except HID's. Hope i was able to help bro www. Fourthgenhatch.com has a great writeup on this and thats where i got the idea and ino to do it the first time long ago. Sucks his car got stolen though.
