Default Idling Question

When I first start my car in the morning the car jumps to 2k RPM~ and it sits there for awhile, it takes it probably 10 minutes for it to go back down to 750-1000. How do I fix this?

when you start your car and the engine is cold it will normally idle higher than when the engine is warm.

So it will be normal for it to idle kind of high for a while before going down?

If your check engine light is on go to autozone and have them read your ecu. They do it for free. IF something is wrong then it would probably be your idle speed sensor.

If you don't have the CEL on then there is nothing wrong and just wait for the engine to warm up before givin it hell.

Completely normal. There is a valve that opens when you start your engine cold, allowing more air in, thus raising the revs. Until your fluids are up to temp., the engine stays at a higher rpm and gradually descends.
