Default Alternator belt sqealing after changing T-belt? LS T-belt same as GSR?

Just changed the t-belt along with all the other belts. I noticed a small squeal after starting the car for a fraction of a second, then it goes away. Is this a big problem? Will it drain my battery or do anything bad to my belts or other parts of the car? Also, how do i tighten the belt if it's too loose?

Also will a LS t-belt fit a GSR's PR3 head?

Thanks H-tech

.........."how do you tighten the belt if its loose".....how the hell did you loosen it the first time. if you just changed the belts then you should know what bolts to loosen to move the alternator, loosen them and move the alternator back some more.

anyway no your battery wont drain if it squeals for a second and then stops, just tighten it.

and on your timing belt, you use matching timing belt and water pump the head and block dont determine it on ls/vtec if you use ls w/p use ls belt if you use vtec w/p then use vtec belt.

t-belt has to match water pump i believe.

gsr pump = gsr belt

ls pump = ls belt.

ok well then on the bottom of the alternator there will be a 14mm nut that you loosen you dont have to hold the other side it is square and sits in a groove, make sure it is in proper positoin by the way, and there is a 12mm nut on top same as above the other side, or the bolt head its self has a alignment pin that comes off and goes into the channel that the bolt slides back and forth in so just loosen the nut put a long bar or pry bar in between the little tab on the alt braket and pry against alternator and slide it back a little further than it was or till belt is properly tensioned and tighten the 12mm nut while holding pressure on the alt. and then retintgten the 14mm, remember when tightening both nuts that the bolt head is automatically held in place by their design but not if they are not in their correct position
