Default New to site/ Universal O2 sensor swap/ Light still on

Hey guys. New to the site. I have a 00 Civic EX and this past Week while on vacation the check engine light came on. The code came up bad O2. I swapped in for the universal Bosach. While I was swapping it out and splicing wires I had the battery disconnected.
For the splice I connected the green to the gray and the white from the old harness to the black on the universal. Then there where two black wires left on the stock plug for the heater(no stripes) and two white wires on the new O2. so I connected them up and re-installed it. After starting it back up the check engine light came back. I stopped at Airport Hinda in Knoxville and they told me that my issue is that the universal sux and I need the $290.00 Hinda O2 Are they correct in telling me this? AndDo I only have the 1 O2 like they stated cuz i only saw the one?
Thatand they said that I won't hurt anything with it not working , my only downfall will be a mile or two worse gas milage.

This sound right? My baby has bout 60k some odd miles on her from new.

you have 2 o2 sensors one on the pipe and another on the catalytic converter.

Generic O2 sensors dont work well with your car, if the O2 is bad, and not the cat, your gonna have to pay it.

P.S. WHY did ya have to take a pic of your car with a BMW in front of it?

I took that pic cuz I thought that a lot of the body lines look similar. Te styling is close, at least I think so. I was trying to get it into my Sig but I guess tags are not allowed in the sigs..

Um as far as the CEU goes I had the codes cleared out via a scan tool twice at the parts store and Everytime I work on it I remove the bat cables.. that seems to clear thing out I think...

Does it? And are the to same color wires on the O2 both for te same thing?

thx

Bank one sensor 1 means the 02 sensor before the cat. The universals will work fine, but I would spen $80 on the Bosch one with the correct harness and plug on it from Pep Boys or Autozone. I replaced mine a year ago and its been fine ever since.

Your first problem was that bought a shitty O2 sensor. Never buy a universal O2 sensor. Second you replaced the wrong one! The one in the cat is the secondary O2 sensor 2 the bank1 sensor 1 is the primary which is the one in the exhaust manifold next to the catalytic converter.

I'm sorry guys.. I think I miss spoke.. I replaced the one that is in the cat I think.. the wiring goes into the floor and has a blue gromit around it.. Its kinda sideways and to remove it I needed the offset O2 tool and needed a small extension to reach past some suspension looking stuff htat was next to it.. so.... I think thats the cat..

So now that you say it will work is there possibly something that I missed in installing it?

Are the 2 wires that are the same color dealing witht he heater part exactly the same and basically redundant (I named the colors furtur up) I guess today I started to feel a little sput sput here or there, goofy mixture from the bad O2 I would assume.

thx
