Default Latest project.....Baffled OEM Sump. A must for semi-slicks.

Some of the guys here in Oz have burnt cam bearing, broken rods, spun bearings... when on semi slicks at track days.
You've probably seen these plates before.

But they're no good with-out a turned-down lip. So......Check those welds.

But I'm modifying the plate to look like this...

I'll have to paint it again once it's done, but thats why I sourced this second ITR sump.

It's getting there.....work in progress.

I've gotten starvation on an R with Azenis. Hell, I've gotten starvation on an exit ramp on Azenisn, it's just plain not that hard to do with that engine. The cams/cam bearings thing is weird though, or at least uncommon.

excuse my sheer stupidity here. I'm curious as to why you need to paint that part if it's going to be covered in oil and will never see moisture?

Yeah - it's for an ITR, B18c Oz Spec (C7 & I think). But will be making mods for B16's & B20's as well.

Trap-door would have been good....but would add heaps to the cost. Will have one fin on top, and atleat one more underneath.

When you weld it, You scratch it back to bare metal in afew spots. So you have to paint-it, or it'll rust there.

I have starved the motor on MXs and RA1s a few times But she still runs

$250 pan is cheaper than a $3500 motor

Let us know if you are gonna sell a weld-in kit for the rest of us....looks really good!

I realize what you are saying about the welding part, but after you are done the procedure and install it on the car and fill it up with oil, I can't see it rusting.

I've done mine like that and dropped the pan and everything looked shiny still....I don't get why they paint the inside of the oil pan to begin with?
