motor fired up on first try - running rich
over the past year this forum has helped me along with my build. i finally drove the si yesterday.
2000 Si b16a2
ctr cams
ctr pistons
aem cai
maxbore tb
blox im
rc 310s
b&m fpr
port/polish b16 head/itr valvetrain
dc 4:1 2.5
2.5 cat for a v8
2.5 midpipe
2.5 vibrant muffler
plx devices wideband/guage
Right now I'm using a jdm p30 basemap with everything except the o2 disabled, and i'm in debug mode. that seems to be the only way i can run w/o a CEL. i also adjusted the fuel injectors. i have tried playing with the pressue. right now its running at 33psi and it's rich as hell. not sure what to do. i dont want to lower the pressure any more but it doesnt make sens to me that its rich with such low pressure. any thoughts? i was wondering if i should put the stock injectors back in and leave the fuel settings stock...
this leads to my next issue - i cant really set the timing or fuel pressure until i get my idle right. the ecu is set at 750 but at times it surges between 1200 and 1500. how can i get the motor to idle accordingly? when i adjust the throttle screw it seems to get richer or a higher idle. also what is a stock fuel pressure for a b16b?

i played with the fuel maps that mtber sent and bumped up the fpr to 37 or so and i advanced the timing a tick. i took it for a drive. it felt the strongest yet after many different crome maps and fpr adjustments. the afr guage stayed in the mid 13's. i mostly drove in the 2900-4500 range with a few spurts to 5000.
my concern now is why on deceleration with zero throttle, the afr goes all the way lean to 19.9 on my guage. it makes kind of a popping rumble unless i lightly hold the throttle open and keep the a/f at around 15 while decelerating. is that bad that it goes fully lean on decel? is there a way to have the ecu apply some gas while decelerating to keep it from going lean or is this normal?

swap back to the stock injectors for break-in, if you're not revving it high and demanding that it makes more power; bigger injectors with stock fuel pressure on the stock map will run you rich, and you'll risk washing out the bores such that your rings won't properly seat.
