alright guys i got a 93 civic ex with a d16z6 automtic for now i am doing a 5 speed swap soon but it may have to come sooner than later becuase of this problem. i noticed yesterday that the front of the tranny were the tranny meets the engine has oil seapage...so i jacked it up and looked and there seems to be oil leaking everywere were the tranny an engine meet......is the tranny seal leaking???? its pretty bad but not dripping yet....i did an oil change a month ago and the engine and tranny were bone dry so it must of just started to leak....i am doing a 5 speed swap soon but i am not sure if this is a common problem....or maybe its not tranny oil? all my fluids seem full so im confused. any ideas? maybe this is common?

 

look to see what color it is. tranny oil is red, it is not uncommon for the rear main to be leaking. and if it is, it behooves you to replace it while the tranny is out.

 

so i mine as well do it while i do the 5 speedc swap. how long can i drive with the reasr main leaking? thanks a lot.

 

just keep tabs on it. you should be fine as long as you keep checking your oil level.
