what are major differences betwwen d16a6 and d16y7?
i have a 1990 honda civic ex but motor is starting to go. i can get the motor out of a 1997 civic dx but not sur on how easy the swap will be. are the motormounts the same? will my tranny bolt up? the newer tranny is hydraullic but mine is cable prefer to use mine its is rebuilt with lsd. anyone with answers please help.
The Y7 is an excellent choice if you need a replacement motor for your worn out 1.5 or 1.6. It's completely compatible - just swap over your driver's side mount and bracket, complete intake manifold, distributor and engine harness from the D16A6. You'll be able to reuse the stock PM6 ECU also. You're cable tranny will bolt right up as well. All 88-00 D series motors have the same tranny mounting pattern.

That doesn't affect how it bolts to the motor, just differences in the clutch.
