Default Dohc zc with pg7 ecu. Is this combination known to run a little rich?

I ask this because my car has been blowing a little bit of black smoke. I've had a code 1 for a while and I know the result is a car that runs rich. However, I recently fixed that darn code and my friends who drive behind me say that I still blow some black smoke. It does have a testpipe on. Could that be the culprit?

im running a pg7 and it runs a little rich. not enough to blow black smoke just enough so you can smell it. everyone i have talked to says the pg7 does make it run rich.

same with me, pg7 seem to run alittle richer but my car likes it, ive lowered the fuel pressure alittle and the car's a tad slower.
