Default Getting ready to upgrade exhaust system.

So Far, I have a stock 00'' si. No mod added as of now.
Im looking to start with the whole piping thing first because I just recently bought a Mugen 4-1 header and 2.5 flange from a buddy of mine, along with a 2.5 ES muffler. He gave me a great deal and now this forces me to do some modding. Anyway, I read in the forum that a kit is available from kteller.com to make things easier. Well, I have a budget and would rather go to a reputable muffler shop and have them do it with neccessary parts made available by them to save cost. I dont know to much about the whole piping terms and what not. What shall i ask for at the shop if im looking to get the 2.5 piping done right? Will this setup pass smog test? What kind of gain will i be getting? Will this give me a deep good sound coming out cause don't want it to be loud; trying to maintain that stock feel.

Thanks in advance.

If you're not going to post anything informational, don't post at all.

Now, IMO, go with a kteller bolt-up system or one that will need to be welded piece by piece (flanges and all). Most muffler shops DO NOT have a mandrel bender since they are extremely expensive. If you do find one with a mandrel bender, it will end up costing you the same, or even more. Get a kteller one, have a shop weld it in, off you go. Crush-bent pipes made by shops are junk and are not worth it since the diameter of the pipe reduces on ALL the bends made as where the mandrel bends do not, at all.

Go with KTeller. Like Deemeetree said, most muffler shops don't have a mandrel bender. Mandrel > crush bend.

I've heard that ES cans make good mufflers.

well i/h/e/cams will make you some power. but if you want to make the most out of those mods i would atleast get a good set of cam gears and run hondata to get everything tuned and running the best it can! btw you wont pass smog in long beach with that 2.5 collector on that mugen header. but if you keep your stock one you can just swap headers when it come time to smog and then switch back after you pass!!!
