Had one on my old Accord. Sounded good - same volume as stock but deeper pitch. And yeah, it rusted out fast.

If you're on a tight budget, the Apexi WS is more durable and you can get it for ~$360 if you shop around.

Full stainless steel is your best bet though (Greddy, Tanabe, Thermal, Skunk, Invidia, etc., etc.) - drop $500 now and you'll never need another exhaust

Unless you need a new exhaust to sell the car, save up for the Apexi WS/WS2.

$220 shipped for a system that only lasts ~1 year . . . well . . . I wouldn't do it

Anyone used one of these in the south? I live in Knoxville and things don't rust as quickly as places like Chicago. My old exhaust is completely rusted out (counted 5 leaks today, including the joint between the cat pipe and resonator). I really like the look of the dual tip Pacesetter, and the user reviews say it gives good performance. I don't like the look of one 4" tip, so if anyone can recommend either this or a similar dual tip exhaust, that'd be wonderful ('92 H23)

Why would you want to spend 175-200 and only last 1 year or so. Spend the extra money and that exhaust will probably last longer then you keeping your car.

Well, I can't afford anything higher end, and I've got 6 holes in my current exhaust that can't be patched (too rusty), so it's pretty much my only option. Since the biggest problem people are having with the Pacesetter is rust, I think if I just give it a good two coats of high heat paint (900 degree max, way higher than it gets at this part of the exhaust) that it'll hold up. I was the guinea pig for the XTD clutch and flywheel combo, and that worked out well enough. Maybe this will too *hopes*

Yep, a friend of mine had a pacesetter header and cat back on his civic, and both rusted/cracked within less than a year.

Pacesetter is GARBAGE, fitment sucks, its loud and has angry bumble bee sounds. The one I had lasted for less than a year before there was a hole in the muffler. It rusted from the inside out, so even if you live in an area without road salt, its still not going to last that long.

I'd even go with a Tsudo SS exhaust for slightly more. The tsudo fitment sucks but its made of much better materials at least, and doesn't sound too bad. You can find these on ebay for around 225 shipped.

Of course if you can spring the extra 150 then get Apexi WS.

Ha I had a Pacesetter header on my old integra, I really can't say anything bad about it except that that black paint is gonna burn off within 5 minutes of using it and it will rust instantly.

Its the rust from the inside out that gets you.

S13 is right - go on Ebay and get either a Megan or a Tsudo. you can get one for the same amount of $$ as a Pacesetter, they sound ok, and they won't rust nearly as fast b/c they're stainless steel.

Well it came in today, and it looks pretty good. I'm gonna drill a few very tiny holes in the bottom of each pipe to let moisture escape. It's a less common, but very big trick used by many companies. Back when the muffler was in the middle of the car, it kept warm enough to keep condensation out, but now that they're in the back, they rust out a lot faster. Many manufactures put very tiny (5-7mm) holes in the pipes and it usually helps a lot

When I had a Pacesetter on my Prelude the tips would rub against the rear bumper. Also you'll notice that the b pipe is too short. You'll have to put some tension on the exhaust mounts to connect the two parts of the b-pipe and clamp.

Let us know how it goes. I wonder if they made any adjustments.

Good Luck

Well it's on. The tips are a little close, but there's still at least 3/8" between them and the bumper. No room for a rear lip though. The pipes fit together fine. Plenty of length. Only installation problem was the gasket was meant for a slightly different cat, so I had to adjust the screw holes a little. So far, power seems fine. My only complaints:

-Tips don't stick out much (1/4" on one, almost 0 on the other)
-Yellow painted inside the tips (gonna paint it black since it won't get dirty fast enough)
-Sound is more raspy then I was hoping for. It's got almost the same sound my ultra cheap, dual resonator system had (previous owner was really stupid and cheap, and now I'm paying for it)

On the plus:

-Power is good
-Just about exact fit
-Simple installation
