Default anybody have a gsr w/kenji chipped ecu??

first of all....let me say that i TRIED searching, but the function has been down for like 2 days!

i have an obd1 jdm gsr motor. it has itr tranny w/lsd, skunk2 pro series intake manifold, intake, header, exhaust.

i will be getting a kenji chipped p28 very soon. i was just wondering where people were requesting their rev limiters be set at. considering that i have no valve train work....i was considering just going with like an 8500 rpm rev limit and a 5300 rpm vtec x-over.

what kind of rev limits and vtec x-overs are you guys running?

i had a kenji chip on a stock gsr. it was set at 5800 / 8500. both were too high.

power dies out just after 8k and vtec should be at 5500. also, my car ran rich as hell and got terrible gas mileage. my bumper was black from carbon.

i upgraded to hondata

interesting...

i was thinking about making the rev limit 8500. I usually shift at around 8100-8200....i was just gonna make the rev limit 8500 cause i hate hitting the rev limiter.

what about vtec x-over? i was thinking 5300.......too low? should i make it more around 5500 (or am i just being too picky....i guess it's only a couple huindred rpm).

5500 is the perfect transition IMO. isnt that the stock one? I think honda made it that way for a reason Couple times that i hit 8500 with my motor i swear the valves were starting to float. I shift at about 8100 but never go above 8300.

of course you ran rich, you had a STOCK gsr.

if you have a stock gsr, the 1st stage of the butterflies open up at 4400rpms, and the 2nd stage i believe is 5750.

did you order a custom program specifically for a stock gsr??

edit: i've seen good power with his ecu mainly on built motors though..or atleast bolt ons and such
