Car alarm HELP!!!!!
I'm not 100% sure if its the batter bc I was trying to figure out the problem last night and it seems to work fine when I'm in the car and press it, and as of this morning I disconected the battery to the car to see if it would reset the brain, and as I put the neg. batter back on the alarm went off, and I pressed the alarm switch and it turned off fine. Now it seems as if it doesn't want to to read the controller from long distances, could this be the battery to the remote? Either way, I want to make sure it's not the code hopping that has malfunctioned, please IM me back at m3turboboy on AIM bc my Pm's don't work hree bc of my firewall, thx.
The brain should be under your dash either a black or grey box. It should be tucked in underneath. If you can't find it, try to look for the shock sensor. It could be blue, black or clear with a LED light on it. The shock sensor should also have a **** that you'll be able to adjust the sensitivity to the alarm. Find the shock sensor and just follow the wire to the brain.
Once you find the brain, unplug the main harness. Leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. You're remote should work for you then.
If not, then you more than likely have to reprogram the remote. To do that, find the valet button. Then stick your key in the ignition and press the valet button 3 times. The alarm should chirp at this point. Then just presss the lock button on your remote and it should make the alarm chirp again.
Hope this helps...

ok, I've replaced the batter from the remote that works to the one that doesn't and that doesnt seem to be the problem, so the batteries are both fine. The thing is my remote that doesnt work works when I'm in the car, but when I'm out of the car it doesn't want to respond, and soem cases it doesn't respond when I'm in the car aswell. I also disconnected the brain (power) of the alarm andit takes a while for the remote to respond to the alarm, like it's not reading the codes being sent to the alarm.
