Make me want to take the trip to Japan and buy one.

Price of new JDM integra:
Round Trip Plane: $800
Price of Car: $4500-$6000
Importing paperwork: $600-800
Shipping price: $1000

That would be $7000-9000 for a real JDM R.

Pretty sick prices.

That's how so many people in the military are able to bring back all those nice cars from Japan. They buy the car for cheap and have good discounts getting it shipped back to the US.

After finding this site about three hours ago I have been non-stop researching this importing of cars. However the bad news I've come across is that many exporters do not ship to the US. WHY?!?

these are kinda like the auctions we have in the US I think.. did you see the 94 gsr si-vtec sold for only 700.. i dont think you'll see these deals over there unless you looked really hard. i mean Japan or US its still a car it shouldnt be so cheap..

i mean the only good condition car thats the same age as the si-vtec that would sell for 700 over here is a saturn... and i know that integras over there aren't the same as saturns over here.. somethings fishy

I believe that in order to legitimately register a vehicle with your state's DMV, the car has to meet/exceed federal crash test ratings and meet/exceed EPA/SMOG emission levels as well as any other safety issues.

i.e. JDM ITR front end does not meet federal front end crash test ratings. hence why you're JDM ITR front end on your USDM car is illegal.
therefore a JDM integra cannot be legally driven is the states.

but that would all depend on your state laws and statutes. as well as who you know!

I'm pretty sure, and please don't quote me on this, but I think the only JDM car you can get legally is the Skyline. And you can only get it through Motorex because they're the only ones who crash test them and convert them.
