rubbing noise from rear drums before and after changing shoes......help!
A wierd noise came to my rear drum recently and i assumed it was my brake shoes rubbing so i changed them and had the drums turned. After installing the shoes the noise is still there. It is there when i hit the brakes or when i use the ebrake but only when i am rolling (i can only hear it at slow speed, like when i am slowing down) I did not use any oil or grease when i did the brake swap. I am confused what the prob is....can any help
Clean the drums...
Take off the drums, get some sandpaper and sand the braking surface of the drum... then take some clean cloth and wipe the dust from the drums and then reinstall them... I am 99.9999% sure the noise will go away...
I had the same problem, and I solved it that way...
