Default Idle Problems ? Please Help Befor I Buy A CRX

Well.. i was going to buy a crx.. a 1989 CRX Si for $1,600 - It Has SOHC ZC Engine.. Body is clean.. He Said when he goes over like speed bumbs his front axel rattles like on the drivers side.. the car is slamed to the ground with coilovers.. and the suspension is super stiff.. the car on the inside is just the dash and driver and pasanger seats.. no radio a/c or heater... the car is FULLY gutted.. except for door panals.. the odometer reads 300k + miles.. he said he put the motor in 1 month ago and only has about 40k-55k miles.. the car doesnt have any rims.. just 14" or 15" blackie wheels.. also when we test drove it.. THE CAR'S IDLE JUMPS BETWEEN 100 RPM'S AND ABOUT 1100 RPM'S. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IS WRONG WITH THE CAR? it seems like it will die if you dont rev it.. he didnt let the car die though.. you know cuz he knows how to drive his own car.. AND if i should purcase it.. i have a 1990 honda civic SI but i have to loan it to my sister for about 2 months.. so im buying this crx becuz of that.. im probly gona sell my hatch.. and keep the CRX so i can get my money back... the CRX is faster then my HATCH with a d16.. here are some pictures.. please post some feed back people.. thanks

and also i dont understand wut this is a picture of.. so if you guys could explain it to me.. thanks

thank you everyone for your time.. and thank you for the feed bacc ahead of time

also to see the picture bigger just click on them.. thanks

and he wont drop the price =\ .. so when/if i buy it hopefully the idle problem isnt somthing serious

the picture you don't "understand' is the valve cover...

vtec means/is variable-timing & lift electronically controlled...

i wouldn't suggest buying it for 1600 with those idle problems, it could be something small but you never know.

i'd suggest shooting him a lower offer and see what he says. but that's just my opinion

looks like it is picture of vtec solenoid, i guess to show you that it really has vtec or something, but you could still have the solenoid and vtec might not be enaging,(hope i spelled that right), as for idle issues here is a link with info

http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/

it is under tech and then under engine

hope this helps, and if it was me i would say 1200.00 or 1600.00 with rims and better have new tires

check the L.E.D. codes from the ecu (hopefully its throwin codes, it should be) which is under the carpet of the passenger kick panel under the glove box and count the number of flashes its throwin then check that number on the FAQ forum which tells what the codes mean. my opinion is its something small and axles r no problem as long as u read up befor u do em which is also in FAQ forum. as for the coilovers r they adjustable? i think its one clean *** car and if i had the money i would most deffinately but it but im from ohio and rust free rexes arent our specialty . so see bout the coilovers and see how immediant the axles need attention but most important check to see if its throwin codes.

yea i seen the light flashing.. cuz the car is almost completed gutted.. and i asked him wtf that blinking light was... and i have coilovers for my hatch i just never put them on.. so if his crx ride height isnt adjustable i can just put my adjustable coilovers.. its no problem.. but yea im paying 1600 for basically the motor and a rolling chasis.. i dont know wut does everyone else think ?
