Rpm gauge??? Do you mean tachometer??? And how in the world would you make a tachometer function like a VTEC controller. It's theoretically impossible to make something like this work. First off a tachometer has absolutely nothing that can control VTEC in any way whatsoever. You can make an RPM activated switch activate VTEC but a tachometer is a different story.

Ones digital ones mechanical. If you want you could have it hooked up to read the same RPMs that the VAFC does but to do the same as the VAFC, thats impossible.

actually it does work guys. its ghetto as ****, but it works. it doesnt actually use the tach, but the shift light to activate vtec. and the shift light is essentially an rpm activated switch. do i know how to do it? no. do i care to? no. but in a pinch, it will make yer vtec work

i never seen this done.....but sounds possible..seems like you would need to tap into the ecu....and the RPM light will act as a resistor...telling the vtec to engage..but ****...wouldn't know where to start..and yes it sounds ghetto as fawk!

i had my autometer as a vtec controller when i bought an ebay chip ( stupid me i know ) and installed it and it fried my computer.. so i was using a chipped dx computer with the autometer as the shiftlight.. heres how it works.. and im not going into full details

the tach works off a ground circuit.. wich means it puts power to the shift light all the time and switches the ground on and off.. first test that figure out wich wire doesnt have power.. now u need a relay.. and if u know how to wire a relay ud be coo... its easy.. put power to the relay... put the ground wire on the tachs switching ground wire.. so when the shift light is supposed to go on the relay should click.. then u put the power from the relay to the vtec wire... good luck
