So, between the two, which one is louder....CAI or SRI.....

 

From what I hear cold air is louder. I have Short ram and it was fairly aggressive until I got an exhaust, now that's all I hear.

 

i think cold air is deeper imo

 

The CAI would be louder than the SRI, and well worth the better gains as well.

 

sri has a high pitch sound to it. Cai has a real agressive deep tone when vtec engages. Im running the v2 and it sounds nice, also it doesnt hang low like the regular cai, so u dont need a bypass valve. easy install too

 

i have home made SRI on my D17, somebody i know has CAI. the CAI didn't seem as loud as my SRI, but it did sound a hell of a lot better, and during the night, or any cooler weather, it is a much beter choice.

 

I switched from SRI to CAI....I know first hand SRI is louder....esp. in vtec. It screams...CAI is a hell of a lot deeper though.

 

either way your vtec is going to become a hell lot more noticeable

i would be more concerned with the performance of the intake, rather then the sound.

Hence the reason I switched to CAI from SRI.

sweet man, i ordered the AEM V2 the other day and waiting for it to come in. And yes acurate, im concerned about performance too, thats why i bought the v2, which was my choice regardless. I was just curious which is louder. I love the sound of a clean engine roaring. And besides, I just dont trust the SRIs that they sell out there for some reason.
