Default Vtec problems-B16a-91 hf crx-

ok, my friends finished their swap of a b16a into thier 91 hf crx, the car previously had a zc swap that blew up. I wired the distrib, and vtec using the zc harness, the car starts and runs great but it will not hit vtec. The knock sensor is not wired because the end is broken off, does the knock not being hooked up have anything to do with it? i know i have the selonoid and pressure switch right, but it wont kick vtec. Is there anyway to bypass the knock? like ground it out? i dont think we can get a sensor from honda this weekend, has anyone heard anything about the gm knock sensor conversion and what to get it for??? and how exactly you do it?

did you let the car warm up. vtec wont hit untill the car is warm. Is it wired obd0 or 1. if its obd0 I dont think the knock has anything to do with vtec. Is the CEL on, what codes are you throwing

I used a bolt with the same thread as the knock sensor (i think it was a transmission bolt) cut the head off then screwed a brass connector onto it tightened it up and screwed a GM knock sensor onto the other end of the brass connector. I got the plug from a GM in the junkyard. As for wiring i haven't gotten to that part my friend is doing all the electrical work.

Heres a picture to give you an idea of how it works

you can do what b16at did. Or you can just go get the KS from any integ for like 5$ at the junkyard. I snapped mine and had to replace it.

Are you throwing any codes.....I think i was throwing a code 6, 20, 21 before i fixed them...>Then it was only a code 6. the Coolant temp. and i had messed up some connections at the ecu....re check all wiring A8 b12 and the eld. and the alt plugs should be could from the ZC i used the normal Hf harness and just plugged the alt wire.

{vtec wont hit untill the car is warm}

No it's just vtec won't engage under 25mph.
