Official Saturday Morning Good Times Ride Thread. Who's game?? (Socal Chapter)
So its been our tradition for some time now and we thought it would be a good idea to get to know some riders from our area that frequent the board since we see quite a few OC/ LA screen names.
If anyone is in the Socal area and likes to actually ride. Maybe you should come on out.
No snoozers on PCH. We are talking twisties here so don't come if you can't handle your biznuss. We aren't out to draw attention from the man, so mature riders only puleeze!
Place: Green Rabbit Garage
Time: 6am
Date: 09-17-05
Destination: "that ol' road" / "those sweet turns"!
1-piece suits aren't neccessary but decent gear is mandatory.
So come on out!1!

You want some cheese with that wine?
Seriously though, I don't know about you guys but I live for Saturday mornings.
6am = safer, less people on the road, less cops, cooler, and you can get home before wifey starts grumbling.
I'm sure we can budge some on the time if thats your only hang-up, but not too late!

heh I grew up in Idylwild, I know all three ways up that hill like the back of my hand. To bad i'm 1500 miles away or i'd join you.
Schu and his DA crew can come in the cages and run as safety cars/interference.
---yes 6am is a little late but that is when the sun starts peaking through and the fog/mist starts to clear out

Short season, but yeah there is some kickass riding to be had here. You could dissapear for a week and never see the same road twice.

I would have loved to come but I'm healing a large tattoo on my leg and leathers + sweat + boots + healing tattoo is a terrible combination. Glad to hear you had a good time.

my buddy took me up on 243 in idylwild about 2 weeks after i got my bike, an 2002 F4i... even though i knew the mechanics of riding bikes from learning on an 03 R1, i wasn't too well versed on even semi hard cornering. hit one of those turns (almost all of them are like this) that starts off gradual and then hooks hard. went a bit wide, caught some pebbles and dirt, and laid the bike down going about 50mph through the turn. thank god for the guard rail and my already chipped and torn apart elbows, otherwise i woulda been even more pissed. hope everyone was careful and made it out safely... that is a pretty hairy road.
bout 30 minutes after in the firestation in idylwild...
the day after, just post op (cleaning)
stitched up 2 days after incident.
me for not having at least a jacket on... we took hwy 10 out to chaparral so i could get new tires, some gloves and a jacket. well i picked up the icon super duty gloves, and i really liked the jacket, but they don't stock it... so i was going to order it that night, after i found the best deal i could within the next few hours. we didn't wanna take the 10 home, since it was rush hour and i didn't wanna get smacked by a tard driving a car.
u live and u learn i suppose... besides, i've had worse from my BMX crashes.

over riding no? not going grandma speeds when i'm not experienced, yes... i know i was in the wrong... and on top of it all i was almost paying too much attention to what my buddy was doing trying to mimic him, only at much lower speeds. i lived through it, it was quite a wake up though.
