Default Sacramento Raceway: Popping the cherry

Posting a few pics I took while I was up at Sacramento Raceway for a test and tune session. This was my first time actually running at the strip. First time driving the truck. First time driving something with 600whp.

I couldn't get this stupid smile off my face...600whp!

There were a ton of cars. There was a Volkswagen run off later in the evening. There was a supercharged "bug" tube chassis car runing that blew the top off the plenum out the top of the glass body. It made the highest pitch whine I have ever come from a car.

I was too busy wrenching and prepping to take anymore pics.

I ran a 10.4 w/ a horrible reaction time of .429. First time on the tree. The redline was set at 5500 rpm so I never got up to full speed at the big end. Trap speed was only 120.836.

A few more pics.

The black Porsche was driven by some kid. He looked to be about 24/25. Someone said he owned some tuning shop up in the Bay. Who knows!

It's a 1948 Ford Pick up, tube chassis, steel cab and the rest is glass.
