Why do all the idiots in my area take one of their headlight bulbs out?
I dont know if this is a Maryland thing or what, but at least half of the guys i see on sport bikes have taken one of their headlight bulbs out, what is the point of this? Is it just a stupid fad?
On my ZX6R one headlight is regular-beam, and one headlight is high-beam.
So during the day, and around cars, I only have one headlight on.
Bothersome, yes, but I never have to look at it.
Though that is funny, a lot of people tell me my headlight is out. I'm damn tempted to rewire the system to two high/low bulbs even though the housings are different and functionality wouldn't really be increased.

600rr's are the same way........... i think it does it's job quite well. it got your attention didn't?
lmao
One of my low beam headlights burned out last week, so I guess I jumped on the bandwagon too.
It's really kind of annoying though.

man they've been doing that for years...from the factory....the F4i had it back in 2002....what a trend thats turned out to be....(CUE SARCASM)
I do however wish both headlights were on in the day...

You guys are funny.Do you think it would make more sense to have 2 bulbs in each housing so we can have 2 lowbeams and 2 highbeams just to please you? That's ridiculous! You'll probably complain about how dumb it looks to have one headlight on until you come accross a rider at night with both of his lights on and you'll then start a thread about some "a$$hole" who almost blinded you on the highway. One highbeam bulb and one lowbeam bulb. That's how they are.Get used to it.

I believe it might actually be a law or at worst it's just cheaper to not have to put high and low beams in both projectors.

it probably started with the japanese asymetrical endurance racing setup. they usually use one yellow and one white in case of rain and fog situations... for the poser guys it is more like a fashion statement. and the whole reason for two was incase one burned out during the race, or to focus the beams in two different directions
actually the reason ive heard was that they are starting to make the bikes with one headlight was for a safty reason. 2 headlights at night look as though its a car in the distance rather than one

I never ride with both my headlights on at night, because on the expressway people think its a car, so they are not scared to come in ur lane and cut u off.
