Default Another Main Relay Problem

Okay I have searched all the posts on this but I think everyone is different so heres my story! I was replacing the valve cover and oil pan gasket and after finishing that up went to start the car and my main relay is buzzing and nothing happens when you try to crank. Check the grounds for the thermostat and the valve cover and even used another car trying to jump start just in case of a dead battery and still nothing. The weird thing is even when connecting the battery directly to the positive side of the starter all it does is click. Without the battery nothing happens. Bought a new main relay and no change. All the lights on the dash come on except the three to the left where the CEL light is dimer than the rest and goes off while cranking. Any suggestions?

check you fuses? you also need to turn the key to the on poss, and look at you ecu. count the number of flashing lights and then get back to me. If nothing comes on the you are not getting power to the ecu and that means it's the relay. Did you buy it new?

Sounds like your battery is dead. Just because you jump it from another car does not prove it is not the battery. Check your battery voltage, then turn the key and try to start it. What is the voltage when trying to start it?

When you turn it to on the ECU light never goes away! Checked with different ECU's and get the same problem! Relay was bought brand new!

ok, well it's not the relay then because you would get no power to the ECU if it was bad too. Now, did you check the fusees? If that is not it check your distributor. It's just one more thing on these cars that go out all the time. See if you have any spark. You can do this by putting a screw driver in one of the plug wires and setting it on some metal like your valve cover. If you don't see any spark then you may have found your prob. Good luck and let me know.
