Default Just got my car out the body shop - damn CF hood won't close

Whats up all. I picked up my car last night from the bodyshop - everything looked pretty decent.....
ANyway, today i opened my hood - to check things out - now the SOB won't close......the cable and everything looks fine - but i guess it just doesn't have the weight to close......

I've tried pushing on it........slamming it - it won't freaking close..........
I wonder if its bent or something........but still, how did the body guy get it closed? This is BS..........anyway, the pics of the wrecked vehicle are below - i'll post pics of the new vehicle later.....

The body guy charged me 1506 to replace everything -so thats not bad at all....seeing how other body shops estimated 3400+.........

I didn't have him put a bumper on, i'll do that myself - gota get the hood latch working first.........i might just take the damn latch off.

I say FUKKIT! Take the latch off and put some hood pins on. Just make sure you get good ones or they'll rust. Also, when drilling holes in the c/f, be careful. Read my comments on this thread on the best way to drill c/f...

Yeah - i sold my hood pins to a guy on here already. I have to buy more - i want the non-circular hood pins though. Thanks for the link.

Just called Joe Demaree - he said he'll drill the holes and everything for me for a few bucks.........i love being right around the corner from him - but he's leaving to go to Chicago for some race this weekend.....

you need to reach under and make sure that the part that the cable pulls on is not stuck loose....

Oh yeah I can see the entire thing, i don't have a front bumper on - the cable and spring are fine....i can't even see where the thing is bent......

When the latch goes down, it pushes on this metal piece thats supposed to close around it, its closing - but not locking into place, so when i let off the hood, it goes right back up.....i'm so pissed at it.....i might just buy some hood pins.

thats because there is a return thing that needs to be pulled up....on the civic is it to the left of where it latches and a little low....

i will look at my prelude one today and tell you, its not a big deal....

Yeah - thanks - i figured it out. Everything is fine now.

I'm still going to buy some hood pins because the hood doesn't fit right unless pushed down a tad bit.

you may need to raise the latch on the car a bit so it can catch onto the hood and then you wont need hood pins

Well - need hood pins because it doesn't sit flush with the fenders - its a tad bit up, if you put a tad bit of pressure on it, it sits flush. I don't want mine to stick up. I'm trying to find some "NICE" hood pins........not looking good right now though.

How did you endup fixing it? Mines does the same thing but I have hoodpins already, the only thing I dont like is that people can just lift the hoodpins and open the hood without worrying about the latch switch.

i had the same problem and i raised the latch. there is 3 bolts holding it in place and one is a bitch to get to underneath it. you have to reach through the bumper. KaoSyN, keep that in mind if you ever switch hoods back and ditch those pins
