Which motor should i keep in CRx? B18b or B16a
Me and My friends have talked about it for a couple of weeks now but can decide?
this is current setup
here are pics of b18b obd-0 crx

this is what might go in

if you have nothing relevant to post then dont! just asking for feedback and want to make right choice on motor......

though crossed my mind.........but i have heard bad things about LS-Vtec...........if built incorrectly can cause some damage and to build properly it costs $$$$$. How do you like your B16a?

it doesn't take that much money to make ls/vtec. i let my friend borrow my b16 head and they did ls/vtec with it and it pulls pretty damn good for being a hatch.
other than that i'd go for b16. i love my b16 rex

I like it besides the high revs for highway driving. 4k@70 kind of sucks. But for in town driving it is nice. It has no torque so you need to get the revs up to go anywhere unlike my new car which has plenty of torque down low. b18 has torque where the b16a has top end so each one has its strong points and weaknesses.
my friend has a b16 eg and i like the feel of vtec @ 4400 rpm, LS has torque and dats my dilemma! Low end torque or high end horsepower?
my spec V makes more torque than hp!

go b16. Throw some cams in there and some bolt ons and call it a day. I think you could get much more enjoyment out of the b16, unless you plan to boost the b18.
ive been thinking of also selling the complete b16 swap ie axles, ecu wire harness motor and tranny for a ls turbo kit what d ya think?
should do a b20 swap since its only 500 for the long block or do a b20 vtec swap really has power they sell them at http://www.venus-auto.com its under monthy specail but I would do b16 I like Vtec
i got a b18a in my hatch and i pull on b16s through 1st and 2nd then they ususally catch me at the end of 3rd gear. Im planning on goin lsvtec really soon. I would keep the b18 and go ls-vtec or boost it. I like the torque.
either motor you have is going to be slow with that YS1 tranny.....i'd say go ls/vtec, you can do it reaiable and its not vey expensive if you already have the head and ecu, then sell B16 block and B18 head and by a B16 tranny

you don't know if that is a gsr/vtec/short-geared YS1 or an ls/non-vtec/longer-geared YS1

convert the b18b to obd1. unless you are consistently at the track or racing people you might as well have the power where you are gonna use it around town. also if you want high end power out of your ls motor get some crower 403's.
NON-VTEC POWA!

I have a B18 in my hatch now and this has crossed my mind too. But since you already have the ls in you car just boost it. IMO thats the only way to go. Forced Induction is the only way a street Honda can play with V8s
