oem tails
Basically just 2 types.
88- 89 USDM

And the 90- 91

So basically only with those lights, there was few variations from both of the lights. But they look the same. Just some little details.

I think you are wrong, the only reason they look fatter is because they don't have the black edge around them. I have seen people interchange lights, thats why I think there the same size.

The 88/89 & 90/91 taillights are interchangable, the dark red border around the 90/91 lights give them an appearance of being a different size. The only thing you need to do is swap over your taillight wireharness from your taillights to the new tailights.

i think 90s have a dark red border, and 91s have a black border. only reason i think this is cus my left tail light has black border, and center and right taillights have a dark red border, like the left broke and the previous owner replaced it. its a 90 crx si. or maybe the difference is between si/ dx/ hf? not sure. no one seems to know the answer to this question. any one?

for some reason when i had my 88 tail lights on the left one looked darker than the middle and left, and worst of all, when it was lit it looked dimmer. and it wasn't only my car, a couple or other 88-89 ef's around where i live were like that. that was the main reason i decided to change them out. mabey it was something with the manufacturing process that the left one is darker??? anyone else notice this???
