Should he be charged twice for shocks and springs?
A guy I know is buying shocks from a shop and have them install it too. So he is paying for installation. He also got some used springs, he like them to put it on to replace the stock ones, at the same time.
Question: Should he be charged twice on installation?
I don't think so, because they have to take the springs off to install the shocks, right?
What do you think? Is this good business practice?
Car is a 95 Civic if it matters at all.
Thanks

same labour .. you have to take the spring off anyways..
especially if they are selling him the shocks..
they lucked out and got installation and sale of the shocks...
this is a shady shop...
my advise
Buy shocks somewhere else.. and have a different shop install the shocks and springs

I would go somewhere else, they are trying to rip your buddy.
I think they are ripping him off too. But I've heard the question brought up...what about warranty? If they charge him just for shocks, and replace the spring while they're there....what if something goes wrong with the spring installation 2000 miles down the road?
Still, it's bs.
