My guage lights went out.....not for sure how you check them and how to fix it...I worded the title wrong...my bad ahah

Lol, I don't think he is that clueless. I'm thinking he is asking how do you check the bulbs?

 

okay, why do you want to check the bulbs? if all your gauge lights dont work. its not the bulbs. you know how many bulbs there are and the odds of all of them blowing at once?

how about you start by checking ALL your fuses.

 

uhm....i dont know how to explain this but...the lights dont come on....but the check engine lights ect. come on...ext. lights work...i need to know if there is a way to check and see if the adjustment controller is messed up causing the lights not to work..

you checked every single fuse in the cabin and in the engine bay??

 

Not the engine bay....just under that dash....anywhere else

 

do your parking lights/ headlights come on but the gauge lights dont work? how about all the other lights around the heater controls.

you need to check everyone. even if the fuse is labeled for fuel pump or whatever check it anyways.. many fuses are used for more than one thing.

 

It isnt any of the fuses under the hood.....The door lights come on, the dome light. But my a/c and my mph,tach ect dont light up but my check engine, brake, hatch ect light up wtf

 

heater lights dont work but my headlights work

 

head lights? tailights? parking lights?

This is in a Stock DX 96 Civic Hatch

did you check to see if those parts of the cluster (ie light bulbs) are getting power to them?

 

Which wire do i plug the tester to?

 

might be the dimmer switch, try tapping on it. the same thing happend to me about 2 years ago, if i tapped on it they would work, i bought a new dimmer switch and my problem was solved..

 

Thats what i thought i was all along...where do i get one of them....besides honda

 

new the only place would be honda, or you can find a used one from somebody..

 

Junkyard or Honda Marketplace.

Latter would be the best bet.
