Default What tire size for 16's..i need my old gearing back!

Well i had some civic si wheels on my hatch with gsr swap an transmission an the tire size was 205/50/15, but now i have a set of 16inch slipstreams with 205/45/16 tires an my friend told me that since i have 16's it will affect my gearing which will cause me to lose accelration but since its a taller tire i will get higher mph when i go to the track. So i figure i can prolly get smaller tire in 16 then what im running to gain some acceleration back when im at the track. Now ive yet to to take the car to the track again with the new wheels on but im sure it might affect me. Oh yeah can someone recommend a good tire for 16's since i have toyo proxes.

Size: 205/40-16 is best for most Civic hatchbacks on 16" wheels. Which year and model hatch do you have?

Tire: How much do you care about performance? Are you willing to sacrifice a little performance to get a less expensive tire? Look at this post for a description of different tires in different price ranges. Also, will these tires be used on snow or in cold weather?

Incidentally, Toyo makes a lot of tires with the Proxes name (just like Bridgestone does with Potenza, Kumho with Ecsta, etc). Which Toyo Proxes tire are you using now?
