re: b16 bogging?!?!
Hi there I have a 1st Gen b16a (PR3) in a 89 Si and I seem to have a problem where when I maintain a certain throttle load the car seems to bog/feel flat until I give the car some gas and it goes back to normal. I heard that the common problem would be the primary and secondary 02 sensor wires mixed up. I re-wired the two so that C8 and C16 are going to the proper sensors. But the problem remains. I get no codes and when I disconnect the 02 wires I get no ECU code either. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks for your advise in advance.
I have the exact same issue with my b16/90si. It really only seems noticable between 2500 and 4000 when trying to keep a solid rpm/mph. I havent messed with my o2 sensors, but I thought thats what the problem might be. Any ideas would certainly be appreciated.

LOL, my car does it on the turnpike when I driving real far. It will do it for like 20 miles then stop
. Its been doing it for almost 5 years now since I have my b16. It drives me nuts though because it only does it once and while. *Yet another reason why I'm going obd1 to get rid of the bullshit from obd0.*

yeah also after going obd1 with crome, my car runs better even with big *** injectors, the pr3 ecu (obd0) never impressed me much

yep i have the same issues but iv changed both O2's, dizzy cap and rotor, new plugs new wires new fuel filter and still the bogging continues. It feels like the car missing.
WOW..SO IT IS QUITE COMMON...I WENT AND CHECKED AND C8 AND C16 WERE CROSSED. I RE-CONNECTED THE O2'S TO THE CORRECT ECU CONNECTIONS AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. MAP SENSOR/VACUUM LINES WERE REPLACED. GOT 2 BRAND NEW O2 SENSORS. GOING TO CHANGE THEM TONITE. MY FINGERS ARE CROSSED. IF NOT THEN OBD1 MIGHT BE IN MY FUTURE.
yAH mine does that same stuff too, it went away and now my car is just running like crap it bogs like crazy between 2000 to 3500 rpms...i think instead of assuming what to fix i'm just gonna pay to have it diagnosed its the best way to really know.

HA... good luck with that most mechanics don't know what to do or even where to start if they cant plug and OBD machine it and tell them what to fix. just make sure you take it to a shop that's familiar with engine swaps.

update...new 02 sensors installed idles kind of high.. but 1000-900 rpm is alright..gonna play with the idle adjust screw.. runs a lot smoother...thanks for the input guys,,,
