My AWD Integra (Well atleast thats what it feels like)
Ok title maybe a little misleading, but here it goes.
I own a 95 integra gsr and bought it with several mods done to it already. One mod is a suspension setup consisting of tokico blue shocks and eibach springs. Now the car rides fine and handles decent, but when at highway speeds it waves around like I have a cheap version of awd or something. When I turn the back swings out with the front and it can get quite scarry.
So upon further inspection I noticed that there was no camber kit intsalled and while the fronts had a little negative camber, the rear had quite a bit of positive camber. This was evident from standing behined the car, which is not good.
So my question is this, I am going to be doing a full re-do on the car from engine to suspension sometime around december, but until then do you think that the erradict driving at top speeds is caused by the positive camber? And to lead off of that question, How does postive camber occur, just never could get that?!
(I thought about posting in the suspension forum, but theres like one post everyday

wow.. ok..lol.. what a topic.. negative camber will help stablize things.. so a little negative camber is ok in the front.. but positive camber in the rear?? hmm.. how can it have positive camber in the rear if its lowered? are there camber kits used on the rear? what about the "washer" trick used to adjust camber in the rear? maybe there is a **** load of washers giving you the positive camber..
just have an alignment done.. but if you dont want and just wait till december when you redo everything.. im sure you'll be ok..
when i first bought my 92 gsr..it was slammed on coilovers with HUGE negative camber all around.. damm the car felt like a rollarcoaster. it was the best handling feeling ive ever felt.. but then when i put eibach prokits on my it raised the car back up and i also got camber kits so everything was dialed back into stock specs... the car felt like ****.. just like you are talking about.. the car felt very squirmish on the highway.. just very unstable. i didnt like the feel.. so i just had new rims and tires, upper and lower ball joints, and then had an alignment done and had the guy set everything that i way i wanted it. -1 degree in the front, and i think it was -.5 in the rear.. everything feels better now.. not as good as when i first bought it, but better.. and i dont even have shocks (they are stock) and no strut bars or nothing.. which is my next upgrade shocks anti-roll bars and and strut bars.
damm im writing alot.. probably starting to get off topic..
but as to the front, should be ok.. the rear? have it checked.. see what is causing the "positive camber"

Thanks yea thats what I mean. I dont understand how the front has negative and rear positve. I have lowered many cars and never seen this, but then again I always use camber kits. It does have a rear upper strut bar, but if anything that would only make it stiffer, so not sure.
// NEGATIVE CAMBER
\\ POSITIVE CAMBER
When looking at the car from the front or back, look at which way the top of th etire is leaning. if th top is pushing inwards over the perpendicular line of 0 degree of camber, then you have negative camber. if it pushing outwards over the perpendicular line then you have positive camber.

Im not talking about what is positive and negative camber, I am asking how positive camber could result by dropping the car. And even further, how the front could have negative and the rear have positive?

the rears shoul dhave negative when dropped. either somone did a do it yourself camber correction kit - washers behind mounting point of upper control arm to frame - or got a bad alignment. i bet the toe is way out to. that is the only thing that will make the car very twitchy at speed. camber will only effect diving in and out of turns. not so much straight line unless you are talking way out of alignment.

Ahh that makes sense.....so a toe correction is definetly needed. Thanks bro
