Default first time at track tonight

well first off i must admit i suck. i have a 92 civic cx with a b18c. only thing i have is z10 traction bars and some cheap intake my friend gave me. i ran open header though and my best time was 15.5 at about 94mph. my friend said the mph was pretty high for my time. my 60 was a crappy 2.6 something. so any ideas about the high mph deal? what does a bone stock gsr run? suggestions besides practice of course.

Hi,

A better 60' will drop your time. A lot.

For example, if you could get a 2.2 or so, you would be in the high 14s.

That's a good trap, means the car is making pretty good power.

If the track is at altitude, it will affect times. Also, try lowering front tire psi to get better traction. If you have adjustable susp, maybe stiffen the rears to full to compensate for weight transfer at launch.

Good luck!

With a CX chassis you are capable of running ALOT faster than that. Like they said, practice. I know of an Si hatchback that was running low 13's on a 12:1 compression B18C. You should be able to get into the low 14's at least. Did you get any wheel hop when you ran? Have you adjusted the Z10's to get rid of wheel hop?

another way to practice is just look at the tree and study the way the lights work before you race. just sit there and watch it for like 20 minutes. you may appear to be weird to others around you, but it'll help the reaction time a little bit.
