i have a built act stage 2... well hd pressure plate and street flywheel... or somethin like that.. well anyway.. my **** grabs hard and its stiff.. and if i let it out kinda quick it jerks you hardcore.. and if i try to let it out slow it chatters.. maybe ur having the same problem
Clutch chatter can be sometimes a common problem. I know alot of 3000GT and DSM guys have the same problem. but its just a little chatter as long as the clutch engages good then u should be ok..
but i do recomend putting some oil on the throw out bearing.

well the pedal doesnt fill near as stiff as it did at first that could be me getting use to it tho. it chatters constantly it evenm whines while im slowly taking off in first.
well i thyink i figured it out. i think it is the throw out bearing. has anyone had problems with the throw out bearing act sends with the kit??? i think im gonna rip it apart and try a honda throw out bearing. that or we forgot to lube the bearing where it slides onto the shaft. does it matter wut kinda grease you lube it with???

you are supposed to grease the shaft of the tranny that the throwout slides on.. not alot just a little cover.. i havent had any problems with my act throwout at all
alright anotha ? since i installed the clutch to now i have noticed that when releasing the pedal it takes longer for it grab...you almost have to release it to where the play in the pedal is??? wut could that be? and what causes the springs in the disk to break??? that happened in my last couple clutches??? haha last what should i look at on the pp and disk for wear or irregular wear???

You can adjust where the clutch grabs by adjusting the bolt on the back of your clutch pedal. Twist it in or out to get it to grab where you want it.
I haven't had any problems with my ACT clutch kit at all. The throw out bearing comes pre-greased, but, like stated before, you have to grease up the input shaft.
I don't think the throw out bearing would cause the symptoms you are describing, but I could be wrong.
How many miles did you say are on the clutch? Did you break it in properly?
Have you tried revving it up and letting the clutch out slowly? Sometimes that takes care of any chattering problems that may occur durring the break in period.

theres prob. over a couple thousand miles on the clutch haha i didnt know there was a break in period. it has to be the throw out bearing unless its the disk or pp i dunno also what causes the springs in the disk to break??? that happened in my last couple clutches??? haha last what should i look at on the pp and disk for wear or irregular wear???
If the springs on your ACT clutch are broken, shoot me a PM and I'll contact my ACT rep, that is definately a product defect.
When you take the pp out, look for irregular wear patterns, scratches, or hot spots.
The disk shouldn't be chipped or cracked, and the springs should be in good shape.

welp i didnt make it around to taking it apart this weekend. but i noticed another thing when i put it into second while going 30 or 40 it whines and then when i let out on the clutch and the revs go up it makes this high screatching sounds its nasty sounding i dont no how to explain it. hopefully its not a synchro. and hopefully next weekend i can get round to taking it apart
That act bearing they send you in the clutch kit is the same one autozone uses. My friend use to always have a weird sound like that everytime he started up his car/shifted, he never tryed to fix it and he never had a problem..

but this isnt just when i turn the car on its at all times besides when the pedal is down on the floor and its really really loud. i noticed today when i shifted from 2nd to 3rd its not pulling near as hard and when i use to shift hard from 2nd to 3rd it would pull hards and squeek at me now it doesnt pull near as hard and it doesnt squeek.....ttt for a poor man and maybe a fucked clutch.
