Default B18C5 question: What's the difference between 96-97 and 98-2001?

I've heard everything in the heads is the same but the bottom end is different. What is different about it?

I'm not positive, but.

I thought that the 97's didnt' come with AC, it was an option I believe.
And I recall something about the 97's not having a rear wiper or some other missing thing..

The ITR (96-97) transmissions are different than the (98-01) (ratio wise) http://tiiite.b16a.com/Bgears.htm
