no, the deck height of the b17a and the b16a is identical, you dont need to cut the x-member from what i have seen

are yal talking about cutting the cross bar thing under the engin? because db2 didnt come with them. i have a b16 header on my 91 rs with a 93 engine and it rubbed the cross bar slightly....so i took it out. BTW the deck heights are the same seing the b17 is just a stroked b16. the header should bolt up fine all you have to worry abour is how the outlet of the headers going to bolt to the exhaust. i had to angle the connection part of my exhaust alil bit so it would bolt up....becuse my header had a angle for some odd reason.

oh ok excuse the slowness i just woke up, i thought i saw 4-2-1. but yea for a 4-1 header you need to either notch it so the header can fit of hit it with a BFH like someone did with my car before i had it.

it here a good pic i found on g2ic.

its going to really depend on the header, as you can see from the link that is a B20 (with VTEC?) w/ a header for who knows what application on there.

EDIT: that also looks like a swapped motor and not a STOCK GSR as in the first pic you can see where the cross bar was removed

thats a good pic.. i dont think i want to do any cutting or removing anything.. i think im gonna stick to the DC 4-2-1. It's supposed to be the best overall header.
