Yosemite National Park
Last year I went to Yosemite National Park (located in Northern California, U.S.A.) and while I driving into the valley (on Highway 41, I think?), I saw quite a few (at least 5) Type-R's cruising on that road. I have been to the park just about every June of my life, and this year is special because I get to take my car. Does anyone plan on being in Yosemite National Park the first week of June? Like to arrange a meet, if possible? The road into the park is full of great twisties, and hopefully by then I will have a Type-R rear lower sway bar installed. Anyone interested?

I'm going to Yellowstone in May, does that count?
It was lat June? You may have seen some of the guys caravaning to last years ITR Expo. One of the easier routes from the Midwest takes you close to Yosimite NP.

Do they have this back east?

How about this?

Or how about these guys running around?

I'm not ******* the east coast, it's nice and all, but if you want nature you have to go west.

Sorry for the big pics, they didn't show up that large when I looked them up on the web. They only took up a portion of the screen then...

how bout NC, Mountains, beautiful foothills, and beach, all in driving distance. good enough for me
NJ smells and im gonna agree, it sucks. I hate the beaches there and the state has nothing to offer over any other surrounding state scenery or activity wise.

That would be like living in Phoenix, driving through the Mojave Desert to Fresno* but never going to Yosemite or San Francisco or Santa Monica or Mendocino, and then claiming that California sucks my ***.

*(No diss intended towards those in Fresno, as I think they will be the first to admit that there is a lot more beauty near Fresno - like in Sequoia National Park - than there is in Fresno.)

I'm not sure what my schedule will be around that time, but if I'm around I'd be happy to hook up because I really like the area.
I was just west of there and you should go check out gold country as well. There are tons of great roads to drive too.
As for the East vs. West debate, there is not comparison. I'm a pilot and I get to travel to and spend a lot of time in quite a few places all over the world. And the Bay Area is one of my favorite in the world. There are plenty of other nice places, but in my opinion, none have the combination of natural beauty, climate, and stuff to do. If it wasn't for the cost of living (actually just cost of buying a house) and the current job market out here, I'd never leave. Just my .02.

I'm not getting into an East vs West debate. Different places have their pluses and minuses - natural beauty, cost of housing, job market, congestion/traffic, quality of Acura dealer service departments, proximity to great driving roads, proximity to racetracks, proximity to family, etc. And some folks like different things - big city folks, small town folks, etc.
However, when someone drives through a state on the Turnpike and then says that the entire state sucks ***, that person hasn't seen enough to know what he's talking about.
Here's hoping that everyone here is living where they want to be, and enjoying everything that that place has to offer.

I do agree that there are many beautiful places in NJ. Nsxtcjr, I live right near the lighthouse in the Highlands.
But I've been to Irvine, CA to visit relatives almost every year since I was 5 and I must say that everything there (IMO) is much better. Cleaner, better weather, better scenery, etc. I dunno.
BTW, where are the Pine Barrens? Looks like a hot place to go riding.

yeah, fresno sux, but everywhere next to fresno rox there r like 3 lakes, 2-3 national parks not including yosemite, blosom trail(illness trust me blosoms as far as the eye can see fer miles), and a lot of other stuff but yeah its funny how many peeps from fresno have never been to yosemite. -rob

It's generally pretty flat, though; there are lots better driving roads (with twisties) in the northwestern part of the state.
