b18a block/b16 head swap question

Default b18a block/b16 head swap question

Hey guys, I have a 92 SI hatch with a d16z6 and i have the oppertunity to buy a b18a block from a buddy of mine out of his 92 integra RS and a b16 head and hydro tranny from another buddy of mine. How hard is it to hook up all the vtec "stuff" and wiring from my d16 to the b16? what all would i have to do and how would i do it? Do any of you know of anyone who has the same or a similar(not an ls vtec swap) set up and is it worth it in the end. Thanx for the help.

Thanx for the help.</TD></TR></TABLE>FYI the 92 RS and LS shared the same engine B18A1. So the setup your speaking of is the LS VTEC swap. You can find all the info you'll ever need here... The setup works well BTW.

Wiring is fairly easy for this build.

Get your LS block bottom end then throw on the b16 head and a hydro tranny and it will be a decent setup to begin with. Then figure out what compression you want to run and how much you need to tune it then pickup pistons and do head work.

Wiring is your last worry. Build the motor properly so that it won't fail because of cheap parts used or improper build setup procedure
