Default civic type R compression

hey what is the stock compression on the civic type R (B16b engine)? and also if your compression goes to 12.5 to 1 do u have to use race gas? how true is this?

That CR I believe is 10.8:1. If you run a CR of 12.5:1, you could perhaps use at least 93 octane with a good tune. That is pushing the limits in my opinion still.

i ran 12.7:1 on 91 with stock timing maps from a p30 ecu...this was with ctr cams so i know cylinder pressures were high due to low overlap as compared to aftermarket cams
