Okay, first off, everyone that helps gets a cookie, and I apologize if this topic has previously been covered in this forum.
My co-worker is trying to put a D16Z6 into a 1990 CRX 5-speed.
Can he use the trans off the Z6 motor?
If so, I'm assuming the CRX axles will work?
If not, will the Z6 motor bolt up to the CRX trans?
I also assume he needs a P28, or can his ECU be worked over?
Motor mounts?
Wiring?
Like I said, if you help, you get one of these...

the z6 tranny wont work becasue it hydro unless u run a hydro line, use the crx harness and get a obd1 to obd0 conversion harness. i think u need your crx mounts for it to work

if he wants to use the z6 trans he has to do a cable to hydro conversion
yes the z6 will bolt up to the crx trans
he can use the existing mounts if he keeps the crx tranny..if he uses the z6 tranny he would need the cable to hydro mount...
he will have to use an obd1 ecu if he goes obd 1

And he'll want to get the wiring from Rywire.com
There might be a how-to in the FAQ thread at the top of the forum.

the p28 is the correct ECU for the d15Z6
Edit: sorry i don't know how to type!

Suck my DX gets another one. Need milk yet?

Ok, things to be aware of (For each point I want a damn cookie!)
1) The D16Z6 longblock itself only has one motor mount while the transmission has the other three, and with this, you need to change the bracket that bolts the mount to the block to the stock one that came off the A6 donor. If not, the driver side mount wont line up.
2) It is 99.9% recommended that you convert to OBD-1 which would entitle you to a P28 ECU/ Chipped P06 (5?). You will need sometype of conversion harness, either a jumper or a clean cut and rewire at the ECU. You can though run the motor in OBD-0 if you use a chipped PM6 and activate VTEC off the 12v circuit that AC runs off (so kiss AC goodbye).
3) On the block itself, you need to extend the Coolant Temperature Sensor plug to reach the connection at the thermostat housing, and you must also attach a plug at the end instead of two little female prongs.
4) You can retain your OBD-0 injectors and resistor box so you don't have to worry about that.
5) If you use the D16Z6 Intake Manifold / Throttle Body I think you have to extend the wiring for the IAT sensor, and the MAP sensor wiring. Unfortuneatly you now have a FITV to deal with, but I am the type of person who doesn't have any coolant running to his intake manifold (God Bless warm climates) and has a B18A throttle body on his D16Y8 intake manifold negating IMO the ugly *** FITV.
6) You can switch over to the A6 crank pulley, as the Z6 crank pulley has a different number of ribs on the alternator pulley and has a section for power steering. If you use the A6 crank pulley, be sure to use the A6 alternator so there is no differences in the belt pulleys. You can also switch the alternator pullies if you feel the need.
7) The OBD-0 / OBD-1 alternators have different plug wiring, so you can stay with OBD-0, just reference above on belt information.
8) The distributor wiring will need to be converted to OBD-1, so either a jumper harness or repin.
9) Add appropriations for four wire oxygen sensor, VTEC Solinoid, and VTEC Oil Pressure Switch. The nifty thing is, you can disable the VTEC oil switch through most aftermarket ECU programs if your's is broken / not running correctly / D.O.A.
I think I have covered everything, and I prefer Chips Ahoy! Chewy.

if the crx is an hf the axles will not work unless your friend is keeping the hf tranny, and also will have to swap hubs to dx/si/ex/integra thats if its an hf and your not using the hf tranny.
BTW can you sprinkle some crack on my cookie?

</TD></TR></TABLE> EHHHHHH! Negative one cookie for you! The HF axles will work in a situation like this as long as the HF hubs are retained. The Transmission side is identical.

Thanks everyone! I've linked him to this thread so he should be reading this. He'll be using the existing trans & axles.
