Default d15 bogging while suddenly accelerating(not cables)searched

my girlfriend has got a 94 civic with a d15engine.problem is: 9 out of 10 times everything is normal but sometimes when you push the throttle (from 0 to half way) it'll give some hessitation(head almost to the dash and then its normal) i have already replaced the spark cables and plugs.
anny thoughts?
thanks!

If it delays I would say the fuel injectors, that was my old problem

its like a 1/10th of a second "misfire"
like a short but hard tap on the brakes.

why would a clogged cat cause a sudden hesitation when going from zero to half throttle(sometimes)?

how do you meen tap it with a pen?and why would it couse the engine to make that "misfire"feeling?
i have driven a few cars with cloged cats but it only killed power or it wouldn,t rev past 4k or something and the wouldn't pass smog tests but i never had a car that bogged like this that i couldn't fix with some sparkplug cables.

Im not saying that is the problem for sure, but it could be helping it. Obviously if it is misfiring it has to do with the plugs, wires, ditributor, coil, etc...

actually i'm having the same problem. under part throttle the car will bog bad, if i back of the gas and get back on it's fine. it doesn't do it all the time either, it did this to me last year and mysteriously fixed itself. now the problem is back, i already changed the cap, rotor and plugs. i haven't actually gotten a chance to really try and fix it but its getting increasingly annoying. any idea's would be a big help. i really think its ignition related not fuel related and i'm starting to think it might be a bad ignitor or coil.

Sounds like a distributor problem when mine went up untill about half throttle is was flat n then would suddenly go to almost full throttle, my local tuning garage said that hondas have a problem with the distributor bearing cracking the casing... dunno how true this is but thats was my problem hope that helps

its the first time i heard this but i'm not saying it isn't true. i know the distributor bearing is known for breaking but i can't see the logic in it throwing of timing.
thanks

have the same problem with mine. except that it only starts to happen when i really get on it or when barely push the gas, like i'm edging up at a light, yours might be a little different. i was told to check sparkplugs and the fuel filter.

Doubt it.

Check the TPS.

I can't believe all of the things that people say it is. All of those things would not cause an intermitent problem like is occuring is his car.

If it started happening recently, and only at lower rpms, then it could be the coil in the dizzy going bad.

But it would happen all the time. Not once in a while.

Go back and read again. He said 9 out of 10 times it is perfectly normal.
