I am doing a d16a6 head swap with the d16z6 SOHC VTEC head... Will I have to get a d16z6 timing belt or will the d16a6 work. Also.. I have an AEM adjustable cam gear on it...This will work on the d16z6.Right?.... And does anyone konw what would be a good setting to put the cam gear at. Retard it or advance it?

 

timing belt, cam gear will all work. NEVER retard the timing if its all motor. U can advance it little by little. but better to have someone who knows about that stuff to mess with it. try 1degree. I would also try to get the d16z6 bottom end too. The a6 bottom doesnt produce the power the whole vtec motor does. but then again no motor is identical. U just might have that magic combination
