Default Type-R header on a base model RSX.

I recently Recieved a stock type-R header from a friend, i was wondering if the header would be a direct bolt-on. I cant think of anyreason that it wouldn't be, considering that its the same chassis. Hoping to put it on tomorrow so need info ASAP. Thanks in advance.

the a3 motor uses 2" piping, the type-r header is 2.5".. its a waste of time

So ur saying if i wanted to make it work, i'de have to get a new catback? Cuz i got the Header and the downpipe, which has the cat on it. The only thing im missing is the exhaust now your saying?

Hey guys, just an update on the "header" issue. I got the header on!! My friend sold me his stock S exhaust for 80 bucks. The header is on, and the power on the the low and mid is better. Uphills that i was flooring in third and losing speed before, i now gain speed, only a little, but the point is it maid a dif. One drawback that i have tho, is that i can hear the header rubbing/scraping on the sub frame. Anything i can do about this? Or am i just stuck with the noise until i get a new header?

Im pretty sure its clearing the sway, the problem is the sub frame. I'll take some pics and post them as soon as i can. The power difference is nice, but the scraping is just gettin annoying now.

I agree, I'm running a JDM manifold into a J's racing y pipe and it wouldnt work with the stock sway.. I'm running a Hotchkis front sway right now but Whiteline and Toda will work as well. Good Luck.

Love it, the quality really stood up to the name. beautiful welds, great fitment, great mid range power.. I was thoroughly impressed with the overall power. I'm thinkin about getting the Spoon manifold to see if I can pull some more high power intead of using the stock ITR manifold... Thats my only complaint - not many jdm after market manifolds that are 4-2 design like that stock...other than Spoon.

Your right, it is a sway issue, i forgot that when you lower the car after being worked on, the suspesion compresses. DUH! Boy do i feel stupid. Anyway, changing the sway will fix this nightmarish scraping noise then? If so, what are some good ones, and the prices of them? thanx

Yea if I were you I would try out that Spoon or J's Racing. remember that J's racing is basically a test pipe.

Found a deal where the hotchkis front AND rear sway set will be about $200. Worth it? The TODA looks like it'll have more clearance tho. I want as much clearance as possible, and stil have improved handling. Torn between hotchkis and TODA right now. BTW TODA is $250 for front only.

hotchkis is hot, and clears my y pipe.... i hear it clears the spoon one too, which is btw a hell of a lot wider than stock ITR.... GO FOR IT!

Thanx for the feedback guys. Im gonna go with the hotchkis. Its probably better for the front rear balance anyway. But TODA is so cool! LOL. Hotchkis it is! thanx again.
