2006 YZF-R1 LE ... Opinions on this bike?
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sp....aspx
Whats everyone think of this beast, comes with everything needed for track or street.
I actually like it ... it reminds me of an older r7 from europe.
Too bad i'll never fit on one comfortably since even while slimming down i look huge on my TLR... plus a friend just got raven 05 R1...and he looks huge on it... he's 6'3 240ish.
Just thought i'd see if anyone might try and get one when they come out this month... if it doesnt cost as much as a 999R ... lol.
Teaser pic...

If this is a repost...disregard.

Sorry Pat, we'll have to disregard
. I think the old thread topic would be a bit hard to search for though, it wasn't very descriptive, if memory serves me right

They have a raven version. All black with the same aftermarket parts. Lots of people are estimating over 15k for this bike.
Ohlins superbike forks: $2k-3k
ohlins rear shock: $1k
Marchesini wheels: $2k-3k
Slipper Clutch: $1k-1.5k
Paint scheme: $???
Got the idea?

Yeah especially since most of them will probably spend their time on their stands at the local bike meets.

... hows the 650?
I didnt know you could get the raven with those options.
But i just dig the paint scheme for some reason.
But i know alot of people wouldnt mind financing those items with the bike.
For $15k, which what i figurued .. $15-16k... its still not a bad deal.
Overkill for street... but fun as hell!!

I agree. I mean really, if you think about it every supersport bike is overkill for the street.

thats a nice looking looking bike. As for the overkill for the street comment essentially 100 percent of modern sreetbikes are, is it really necessary to have a bike that goes over 150 mph on the street, no, but most of us have a bike that can.
also most of these bikes will just be displayed never really ridden

Apparently mine can go 205 mph
The gold rims looks sort of out of place on the yellow, on a raven they would look nice. I know the purpose is for weight savings, I'm just talking about looks.

I think it is a beautiful peice of equipment, And to get Ohlins everything and have a warranty would be nice. Lose the nice street plastics and get some race plastics and you would have a track day monster with a warranty.
