Clutch suggestions, D16 300+whp.
My car came with a Spec Stage 2 Clutch, what junk, it was fine for when the car was stock, but after i built the motor, it lasted 800 miles and slipped a little until then. I want something i can rely on, i've heard horrible things about Spec, so give me some suggestions.
Thanks!
Thanks!
u were in the same situation as me!
i had a spec stage 2 clutch.... overheated alot and slipped on the dyno past 200 lbs tq...
now i have a competition stage 4 clutch on my d series and i have 300 whp 271 lbs tq...
and it works well and is cheap!

All i can find that'll support my modifications (and it's getting close) is a full race clutch from ACT.

You bought from them and it's no **** $350 shipped for the entire kit? Clutch, disc, throw-out bearing, etc.? I figure i'll go with Stage 5, it's the same price as Stage 4...

Account for a 30hp/tq drivetrain loss (i don't know or really care what it actually is), it comes to around 300-310.
This clutch has a capasity of 250-350% over stock, which is 265-371, i'm in the middle of it's capasity.

hi, i dont want to jack your thread but i'm in the same dillemma...looking for a clutch that will do me well but i'm also looking for a clutch that has a hard pedal pressure...such as the rps clutch pedal pressure that my uncle has on his car...if anyone can recommend a clutch that is reliable and stable to handle the 300+whp your support will greatly be appreciated...thanks...
