Big Willow Springs Top Speed?
Hrmm well everyone wants to know about the drivetrain, all I wanted to know what were the top speeds Civic/Integra chassis were seeing.
Original Q still stands: What are you fast Civic/Integras guys doing top speeds @ Big Willow? Is this some kind of competitive secret?
This is what's going in:
2.0L sleeved B18C
YS1 transmission
225/50/15 tires
Redline: 8500
Using this cool calculator: http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears/index.php
4.4 FD, 156 mph
4.7 FD, 144 mph
4.9 FD, 140 mph

how about 2.0L b-series drivetrain -- naturally aspirated. Let's say 200 whp for now.
With a stock geared YS1 B16 on 205/50/15, I'm hitting the top of 4th on the straight. I'd like to run a different final drive, and I'm trying to decide between 4.7 or 4.9 (I will most likely be using 225/50/15)

You should be fine with the 4.7! It's cheaper, and more suited to the track around here! Especially cali speedway.
If you are only seeing the top of 4th, you should be exiting 9 a bit faster!

were did you get the 9000rmps or the b18c?
He stated its a 2.0 liter b series motor, but didn't list a redline.
Unless the motor is sleeved with forged internals i wouldn't push a 2.0 liter motor Bseries motor much past 8,000 and that is pushing it IMO. 7500 would be alot safer.

Casey, Casey, Casey. Those Honda Cup cars are no where near 180mph. You are giving them too much credit haha.
I haven't used a speedo in a long time so I am lost when it comes to absolute speed, but maybe on the front straight before T1 braking zone, the fastest Hondas are at 140-145mph?
I remember looking one time before I began to turn into T8 and I was hitting 135mph.

I remember that one! It looked really good. One of the best looking vipers I have seen thus far.
164 is not that big of a deal though.
I hit 160 down the front straight in a porsche GT2 last year, and that was not even close to what the car could do!
Another 10mph could have been seen pretty easily!

****, that's so far off the mark for a Honda I just assumed he was talking about a Nextel Cup car...

180???
Doubtful given thats what GT1 cars get at friggin Daytona. And I've never been to Big Willow, but rest assured that Daytona is a terminal velocity track. Whatever your car's top speed, it will see it there.
The words "Aero Limited" come into play at Daytona.

Out here on the West Coast we are reving to 9!
That clackulates out to at least 180.
Scott, who doesn't know for sure what a cup car is any more...Honda Cup?....Porsche Cup?....Winston Cup?....
