Default Apexi N1 Universal Muffler question

Hey, I have this authentic Apexi N1 universal muffler that I want to put on my 92 Si hatch, but i don't know what size piping i'm supposed to get. Right now, my car still has the stock d16z6 motor and the only mod i have is an AEM short ram intake. My friend told me not to cut the stock exhaust that i have when i take it to the shop and instead, pay about 100 more for brand new piping, which makes sense. But the thing is, at first, he told me to get 2 1/4 piping, but afterwards i guess changed his mind and told me to stick with 2 inch piping. I plan on getting a b series swap in the future. So what would be the right size piping to ask for at a muffler shop for my eg and a Apexi N1 muffler? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think 2" is good for the d16 but if u plan on swapping a B series in the future get 2 1/4.. u probably wont lose much power on d16 with a 2 1/4 piping anyways

Hey guys thanks for the help. So i guess I'll stick to what my homie said in the first place and go with 2 1/4 piping. Oh and I wasn't planning on going lsvtec. I was thinking about getting a GSR swap. Thanks again.
