Wich combonation would you go with?
I'm planning a mini me with a 75 or 100 shot of nitrous in my stripped dx. I've read and been told that you dont want to go more than 10.5:1 on the c/r when running this much nitrous. so these are my options considering that I already have access to these;
d16a6 long block, y8 head with no cam, SI tranny, and possible a complete y8 long block for really cheap, there for saving me money on buying a Z6 block etc. etc. although I would buy new pistons with any of these set ups.
I have found that at the place I looked sell both pm6 and p2p pistons, the p2p's are cheaper.
Option 1:
A6 block
Y8 head
PM6 Pistons/rings
Y8 2 layer metal head gasket
A6 crank
A6 rods/pins/bearings
OEM A6 piston to deck height
this should get me 10.6:1 c/r
Option 2:
A6 block
Y8 head
PM6 Pistons/rings
Y8 2 layer metal head gasket
Y8 crank
Y8 rods/pins/bearings
OEM Y8 piston to deck height
this should get me 10.4:1 c/r
Option 3:
Z6 block
Y8 head
P2P pistons/rings
Y8 2 layer metal head gasket
Z6 crank
Z6 rods/pins/bearings
OEM Z6 piston to deck height
this should get me 10.5:1 c/r
I am thinking of going with option 1 since I already would have the A6 Crank, rods, and pistons, although I would buy new pistons. and I would have a .1 or .2 higher c/r than the other set ups. also what would be a good cam to run in the y8 with any of these set ups. the only bad thing about not useing the z6 block/rods/crank I have have came up with is not being able to rev to 7200rpm. or if you would suggest any other combonation that would be better, please do so. thanks in advance for helping me decide.

will the .1 really make a big difference when on the nitrous? I figured that 10.6:1 isnt that much more than 10.5:1, thinking I will have a little more power and it wont cost as much since I will be able to use parts that I can get way cheaper than having to hunt down new rods crank and possibly block

I also just came up with this combonation, please correct me if I'm worng but I would be able to rev to 7200 with the Z6 crank and rods in the a6 block right?
A6 block
Y8 head
PM6 pistons
OEM A6 head gasket
Z6 crank/rods/bearings

So what would I all need useing a a6 block and y8 head to safley rev to 7200rpm? the z6 crank, rods, and bearings?
also can a Z6 cam fit in the Y8? is there any differance? is one better than the other?
