Default heater issues in del sol

When i run the heat in my sol, my engine temp goes down, even during warm summer nights and quite obviously during the winter as well. I know u get best mpg when its a running temp, but it never gets there with the heat on. Is that a thermostat issue or are they all like that? Thanks a bunch. Got B16A3 by the way.

Thank you HT for making my half shaft removal a breeze!!!!

it is normal that the engine not heat up as much with the heat on, but I couldn't tell you what normal operating temperature is.

If the thermostat is busted, not reaching operating temperature is a perfectly normal symptom. If you're worried, it's not an expensive part to replace, not difficult either.
